Year of vehicle - 2002 Make of vehicle - Ford Model of vehicle - Ka Engine size 1.3 Mileage - 95000 Hi, I would really appreciate some advice. My Ford Ka started making a really loud noise (like a helicopter) on the motorway so I had a look underneath. The exhaust has broken apart at a joint between the pipe that comes down and bends in a right angle from what I THINK is the catalytic converter (right behind my front bumper), and the straight pipe that leads to what I THINK is the bit that does noise reduction. So essentially, what is broken is the joint end of a pipe and I wanted some advice before I ring up garages for quotes to find out if this means that the whole converter needs replacing, or just a connection pipe, or just a joint?? I don't want to be fooled into spending more money than is necessary - please help!! Many thanks in advance.

Don't know the car so guessing: FWD cars use flexible things for exhaust that can and do wear out. U gotta look and replace what's bad. Engine mounts can aggravate troubles if bad FYI, T

yes the best thing you can do is get it into a shop and let them have a look , most shops will take a quick look without charging you anything and possibly give you a ballpark figure of what it will cost , that way we're not guessing . sounds like you said it was near the very front of the vehicle so you should get it fixed asap to avoid any possible carbon monoxide issues k .......Todd
