Good Morning all!

Below is all the info about the car as asked in the tips:

Year of vehicle - 2001?
Make - Ford
Model - Lincoln
Engine size (2.0/ 5.7) - Not sure :(
Mileage/Kilometers - 150k miles
It is 2k miles over it's scheduled oil change with the oil being half full. The engine coolant was 3/4 empty when I checked it this morning. I also drive 70 miles round trip to work every day and 70 miles (140 total) twice a week to work out.

Heres what has been happening with the car:

I had a relative look at it 2 weeks ago before it was making a noise that sounded like metal was spinning in..something. The relative told me it may be the alternator and not to worry about it. So I let it slip through the cracks. What prompted me to ask, not only about the noise, is because while driving the car at any speed the electricity will cut in the car and flash back on. This seems to only happen when I have the heat and radio on and either roll down the window or hit my break. As soon as I do one or the other, while under those conditions, the electricity will cut quickly and everything in my car will revert back to it's default settings.

The car, when the electricity cuts, will also stall briefly. It normally stalls when I pull into a place and turn the wheel either left or right. I turn off the car, turn it back on and it's good to go. It will also stall while driving down the highway when the pre-mentioned conditions are met but when it stalls while driving the car will kick back in within seconds.

This morning I walked out to the car to drive to work and turned the key over. All the lights came on in the car, the lamps came on but there was no noise. I tried rolling the car over a few more times but the engine has made no noise. I've had starters go out in cars before and tapped them with a hammer a few times to get it to try and kick in, but I was unable to do any diagnosis on the car from my very limited knowledge before I had to take the spare to get to work.

Thank you in advanced for all the help you can provide.

Hey - Keep better checks on fluid levels - do it manually and don't wait for warning lights.

This noise though to be the alternator can't be ignored. It may have burned up and can't keep battery charged and an assortment of issues would begin till battery was dead.

Charge battery with a charger, fix that alternator if it is that and no doubt needs a new belt too. If the pulley falls off serious damage could happen so it can't wait.

Not sure what you meant by 1/2 full and 3/4 empty?? If oil half way to the add mark - fine. Coolant checked at recovery bottle doesn't reflect the total amount in the whole system if it shows low. If that continues you need to find out where it's leaking!
