Hey guys I have a 1988 Nissan sentra and I was driving home on the highway everything was fine then at every light the car seemed like it wanted to stall it did once fired it back up was fine again still seeming like it wants to stall. then i drive up the hill come back down my wipers and radio stopped working then it died i got a jump then it was working ok i noticed the headlights starting to dim so i sped up didnt make a diffrence then it died again had to get another jump start then i drove to my place and it died thankfully right there. the car wont start now only if i jump start it from another car I was told by various people its the alternator thats gone. I noticed when my dad unplugs the cables from jump starting my car the headlights and dash lights all go dim even if i rev the car and when i go into gear it usally dies on me

Have your battery charged .Then take car to a shop and have charging system checked . Prob the alternator if all belts are in place.Dont drive far and leave a/c off till fixed .

Yeah most shops are kinda far out of my way so I rather not risk that but the alternator belts are all new

It also does this weird thing I noticed it has a really hard time getting from 1st gear to 2nd (its auto by the way) and when i mean hard time i mean HARD like foot to the floor on flat land. I drove it pedal to the metal up a hill then the exhaust pipe instead the motor got glowing red hot

If driving to a repair shop is out. the sensible thing would be to have it towed to shop. after repairs they can then access the driveablity issue . it may be related to the voltage prob.

Yeah Im really hoping its just the alternator cause Im so broke right now haha
