Car stalls when idle

Hi guys. At a stop sign (when my car was stopped), my car almost stalled. Then on the way back home it drove fine when I was at higher speeds. soon after I parked my car at my house, the engine just died. The next day I started my car just fine but didn't drive it yet. What could be a possible problem?
I have a 1993 Ford Taurus SHO with a 3.2L engine. It has 136k miles.

You may have a bad IAC ( idle air control) but try eliminating any vacuum leaks and cleaning the throttle body first. Remove the intake snorkel, have someone hold the throttle wide open for you and scrub the back side of the throttle plate and surrounding bore with an old tooth brush and some carb cleaner. Be sure to spray some into the small holes next to the throttle plate. That should help stabilize the idle. If it still has a problem, replace the IAC.

Thanks for the reply.
I'll try cleaning the throttle body tomorrow (I've never done this type of thing before.) I might also replace the fuel filter and I'll let you know how it goes.

I got my throttle body cleaned. It was VERY filthy so thanks for letting me know about that, but sadly it did not solve the problem. When I drove and took my foot off the gas, my car died but then I could start it right up again.
When In park and when I reved the engine, the RPM's would go up like usual, but then when coming back down, it would stop at 1500rpm for about 2 sec then go down to where it should be at around 1000. It does this every time. I don't know if this has anything to do with the IAC.
Anyways, I guess I will go on and replace the IAC and hopefully that will solve the problem

There was more to that answer than just cleaning the TB

Yeah, I know. I checked for vacuum leaks.. but couldn't find any. The method I used was spraying some throttle body cleaner and listened for changes in the engine.
