Car runs rough if under 1/2 tank of gas Sign In

I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am SE. It has a 2.4L 4 cyl engine that has 181000 miles on it. Car starts up and runs great. However Once the gas gauge get below half tank the car dies out. It will even pop and bang.....spit and sputter. Pull in to a gas station fill it up and the problem disappears. Here is what I have done so far..... I removed the fuel tank Cleaned it, replaced fuel pump, Fuel filter, Fuel lines. Removed and replaced fuel injectors. Put new spark plugs, New boots and still have the same problem. Check engine light is on put only code is for a small evap leak. Please tell your thoughts.

Are you sure this code is not an EVAP vent issue?
The next time the car begins to do its thing, try removing the gas cap; if the car comes back to life; the vent solenoid might be sticking closed?

I removed gas cap and drove the car. Made no differance. Before I put cap on i sanded lightly around filer neck to ensure a tight seal. Replace cap with a new one. Still have same problem.

Just to settle my curiosity, has the fuel mileage gotten really bad? If it has, it is possible the fuel sending unit is bad and you are actually empty at 1/2 tank. If fuel mileage is about the same, drop tank again and look at the rubber hose that connects the pump to the fuel lines. If it has a hole in it, and fuel level drops below the hole, you are pumping fuel back into the tank and not through the lines.
