Car dies randomly

i have a 1996 Chrysler sebring jxi with 140xxx miles 2.5L engine. my car shuts off randomly... check engine light came on recently. diagnostic was that 2 O2 sensors upstream bank 1 and 2 were out. it typically shuts off after 30-45mins of driving then turns on after like a 15 minute sit. Could a O2 sensor be the problem? also i was told that there were old old codes pointing to a problem with engine compression? could that be the problem?

I can pretty much assure you that you are wrong about it needing 2 O/2 sensors. It's highly unlikely. What are the specific code numbers being stored? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

im not sure what the codes are... at auto zone he said that the codes were for o2 sensors he didnt say that was the problem but that they are out. i was just wondering if it could be that simple of a fix.. also even though i think it just over heats. the gauges dont show the engine getting to hot at all. it just shuts off

Those guys really have no clue when it comes to interpreting what the codes may mean. We need the code numbers to even begin to have any idea what may be wrong. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

was wondering if you solved your problem? I have a 96 JXI and found that replacing the MAF sensor solved the problem.
