Hi,
I recently posted a thread on here about my car suffering from steering problems, pulling sporadically to the left, sometimes to the right, getting worse when accelerating or breaking at speeds above 50 mph.
I've had the wheel alignment, tracking, balancing checked, as well as Vauxhall running a check on the car. Vauxhall suggested 4 wheel alignment, and then they came back to me and said the tracking rod arm and end had seized, so 4 wheel alignment couldn't be done.
I paid them a hefty price for labour, parts, alignment, inspection etc which summed upto approx £200.
Now the car steering has become excessively light, and instead of pulling to the left, it now pulls strongly to the right. It pulls to the point where, in order to keep the car going in a straight line on the motorway, I have to have the steering wheel turned slightly to the left (about 25 degrees counterclockwise), and sometimes it will swing sharply left or right, whenever going over small bumps.
Basically the handling is just as bad, only now the steering is too light and it pulls in the opposite direction. I'm completely stumped, don't have a clue what's going on.
I'm not taking it to any more garages, and paying hefty inspection fees, because quite frankly, I don't have confidence in them and neither do I have money to throw away on a car of this age.
N.B. This car was involved in a small bump with another car about 1 year ago, which required some bodywork repair and the bodywork repair company told me the chassis had been bent and had to be re-adjusted. Have no idea if this is related to the steering problem mentioned above, but thought I would mention it anyway.
Any help would be very much appreciated!!

The primary problem is that this chassis is known bent.
They can be straightened such that the vehicle can then be put into alignment thru ordinary adjustment if within their range and the vehicle would behave as originally engineered. I'm shocked the place that did align this for you didn't say that the chassis must be in proper place first or you are wasting your time as I think you found out.
This problem needs to start with a body shop that can "frame straighten" close to spec so then it can be aligned AND this still needs all good suspension and steering parts.
This is frequently expensive and a primary reason vehicles are rendered "totalled" which basicaly means the cost to put back in shape exceeds that value of the car. I don't know what it would take but it sure seems the help you have sought out so far doesn't either and they have the car in front of them!
