i have a 98 saturn with a 1.9 dohc. would a bad catalytic converter cause it to stall. plugs, wires, and distributor have been replaced

a bad cat wouldnt cause it to stall unless it completely blocked the exhaust flow. do you still have exhaust coming out at the tailpipe?
what makes you think you have a bad cat?
any check engine lights??
