Car Died On Me Sign In
I have a 1990 Ford thunderbird 3.8 Base. This morning the car started up fine and I turned on the lights because it was dark out and took off. While I was driving on the freeway the cluster lights got real dim and the check engine light flashed on and off a couple of times but did not stay on and the car started to put put and run a little rough. I decided to see if the car would make it back to my house so as I was driving the cluster lights and the outside lights went from dim to completely dark and the car was driving rough. It made it home and then died. When I tried to start it again it wouldn't crank. Please help.

Recharge the battery and then have the charging system tested.

Thanks. I just got a new battery and the car cranked up and is working fine now.

No, it's not fixed and you are going to get stuck again. Have the charging system tested as I advised you to.
