CD player question on Jeep Grand Cherokee Sign In

I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, V6. I had to change my battery a few months ago and the CD player worked before that but not since. A friend mentioned today that there may be some security device preventing the player from working now that the battery has been replaced? Is this true? If so, how would I find out? It literally worked with the old battery and not at all since the new battery was put in so it makes sense, but I've never heard of such a thing. Any help is appreciated!

Re: CD player question on Jeep Grand Cherokee Sign In

your owners manual will probably have a section on the topic. but also if you take the radio out of the dash there should be a reset button. it will be small and recessed in the radio, you will need a tooth pick or a straightened paper clip to press the button.

Re: CD player question on Jeep Grand Cherokee Sign In

WE DID THE SAME THING - - ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS TAKE THE COVER AWAY FROM THE FRONT OF THE RADIO AND IN THERE WITH THE RADIO IS A SMALL CONVERTER PIECE FROM THE CD PLAYER FROM IN THE BACK OF THE CAR THAT CONNECTS TO THE RADIO - - IT HAS A BUTTON --- JUST PUSH IT IN TO RESET IT - - NEXT TIME RUN BATTERY CABLES FROM THE OLD BATTERY TO THE NEW ONE WHILE ITS STILL CONNECTED AND IT WILL NOT HAPPEN....
SEE YA
