My dipstick broke off about four inches down from the handle. Any suggestions how to retrieve the lower part of the dipstick from the tube?

You could try a telescpopic magnet, Autozone have these at the counter for about two bucks and if that doesn't get it....plan on removing the oil pan.

You can get needle nose pliers that have a long reach also. They are more expensive tho.

Try to blow a bit of compressed air though the oil pan hole while someone else taps on the side of the dip stick tube. I have had good success with this method in the past when I managed an oil change and repair shop.

Thanks! I'll give AutoZone a shot.
