Break release cable Sign In

2002 chevy silverado, 6cyl, 145000 miles.
The little cable that runs over to the brake release lever has broken. I want to release the pedal manually but I don't want to have a finger up in there when it happens.
Has anyone done this before if so any instructions would help.
I am going to let my mechanic repalce it I just don't want to call a wrecker when I can drive it to the place.

Use a screwdriver to release it.

Re: Break release cable Sign In

I'll apply pressure to the pedal with my left hand while releasing the latch with my right. Only been hit in the face a couple of times. (of course that could explain a few problems that I have) Pirate
