[crazy]Hi! My 1993 Dodge Caravan ES has a funky brake system. It has nitrogen assisted braking along with ABS, and my brake light won't go off, my brakes are similar in fashion to manual brakes (feeling), it's almost like having air in the lines, but there isn't, and then sometimes after driving for a while the brake light will go out and I will have brakes. My husband is a mechanic, and is totally baffled by this nitrogen assist on this brake system. We do have brakes, and they work, always have, but we have no idea what to do as far as diagnosing because everything else has been checked and changed if needed. Have you ever heard such a thing of nitrogen assist brakes? According to the chilton, this year of caravan was an experimental model for the nitrogen assist. The chilton also stated to be very careful because of this nitrogen can holding up to 1600 psi. Man what to do! What are your suggestions? Any would be highly appreciated. Thank you for your time. I don't know where your seeing this Nitrogen stuff. I have never heard of it and Alldata has nothing on it at all. The ABS system does use an accumulator on the master cylinder that has the potential of 1600 to 2000 PSI any time the ignition is on. That may be what your talking about. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
