Can pump and get a little bit of brake. Does the master cylinder need replaced? Back drum brakes need to be adjusted close but not dragging. If you didn't machine or replace drums or rotors they will feel soft until broken in. That's not the best way to do brakes. Also, what can happen is you pushed back the pistons in the calipers to make clearance for the new pads and when you pumped up the brakes to set them there would be several pumps before they were set. The seals in the master cylinder are older and they haven't traveled that far in the bore and what can happen is it's crusty in there and they go torn up. Also - did you allow master cylinder to run too low on fluid? If so it pushed air in and would need bleeding all brakes which is a good idea anyway. Even with all new parts new brakes don't always feel so great for a couple stops and are at there best after a couple hundred average miles of driving but should still stop well, T Guest Anonymous Poster Aug 28, 2007, 1:56 PM Post #3 of 3 (1068 views) Re: Brake Pedal 2 The Floor Sign In Thanks!!
