Bees in Car Sign In

This isn't exactly a car repair persay, but it is a huge issue that I have no idea what to do about. I went on like a three week vacation, come back, and notice there are bees around my car. I don't think they are necessarily going INSIDE, but I do notice them going inside little cracks around the door towards the front, and going in the driver's side mirror. I already sprayed them with some stuff, but it really didn't do anything. I'm going to get bug spray tonight and hopefully end this nightmare, since I can't even get in my car without being attacked by bees.

I will note that it's not a ton of bees. I've only noticed Around 5 or 6 flying around at any time, but I'd be horrified if I found a nest or something in my hood. Should I get bee/wasp spray and just spray around the spots where there are bees, or should I do something else? I'd rather not have my car explode when I start it up.

Re: Bees in Car Sign In

Some sprays may be flammable and some may hurt the paint. Arggh! I've had them in some of my low use cars and they do go away with regualar sprays - knock off the nests if you see them. There's a type here called mud wasps and they can cause real troubles. If you can put the car in a garage and set off a bug bomb as I do that periodically and it doesn't hurt anything,

Re: Bees in Car Sign In

Hey, thanks for your reply. I did locate the nest, and it was luckily no where near the motor. It was inside the door, but not inside the car. It was kinda sandwiched between the car and one edge of the door, wedging it and making it impossible to enter the door into the interior of the car. I did get spray because of its distance from the motor. They got really nasty, but died. I kicked the car around a bit (it's not a very nice car, so I wasn't that worried about deteriorating paint or small kick marks), and no bees attacked me like before, so I think I'm good. However, I'm not driving it for about a week and constantly cleaning it out with water, to make sure all of the spray is gone and to not cause any flammable accident that could occur. My logic here might be stupid, and if it is please tell me, but it looks like my nightmare is over. Thanks!

Re: Bees in Car Sign In

The flammability will be gone in minutes if spray was flammable at all. Bees won't return and they don't like soapy water which doesn't kill them but they find another handy home somewhere else and hopefully not your car,
