Anyone heard of these symptoms?

1997 Chevy Cavalier Z24, 2.4 120,000
If i drive the car for a period of time longer than 30 minutes or so and then shut it off and come back 5 minutes later, when i try to start the car nothing happens. If i let the car sit for 10-15 minutes though, it fires right up. It has done this to me several times now but it only seems to happen after I have been driving for a while and try to start it again withing the following 10 minutes or so. Any ideas?

From the sounds of it I'd begin with cleaning up battery cable connections,

When you say "nothing happens", do you mean that the starter won't crank? Sounds like a starter issue. If the starter cranks, but the engine won't start, that's a whole new issue.

when you say it doesnt start, is it cranking and not turning over? or are you getting nothing at all

No, it doesnt even crank. It's like the battery is dead, but it's not the battery because i have full power. headlights are bright and everything. It sounds to me like it could be the starter, but It along with the ignition switch have recently been replaced.

Turn on your headlights and hit starter. If the lights don't dim or change in anyway then you have ignition problems. If they dim and they don't return to full brightness then you have battery connection issues. If they dim as normal then return its a starter problem.
