Anti-lock brakes ? Sign In

Hey guys, is there a way to tell if a 2000 Chev Lumina has anti-lock brakes without looking at the brakes itself...most time the letters would be on the steering wheel or the brake pedal, I order the hub assembly, but the car hasn't got here yet, and I could haved order the wrong ones? Any help would be appreciated....cut me some slack....the old memory ain't what it used to be.Unsure

Does the ABS light come on when the key is turned on?

Just a thought!

How about the lettering on maybe the instrument panel /passenger side.
Maybe even lettering on the trunk lid!

I didn't notice the dash light when I check out the vehicle the first time...and there is nothing on the trunk lid or on the dash anywhere, I had the owner to check every place I could think of.....I just jumped the gun on this and assumed it had anti-lock brakes...to tell the truth I thought all newer vehicles had them.

Can you contact the owner and have him/her turn on the ignition and see if the light is on?

One other thought...

Contact Chevy Parts Dept...Get the ABS option number and have the owner check on the options label for that option number.

Re: Anti-lock brakes ? Sign In

He brought the vehicle this morning....it has no anti-lock on it, kinda knew that when it was checked for the ABS warning light yesterday.....thanks for the tips again. YOURE THE MANCool. Oh, there is one more thing that (if you don't mind) I got a 94 econoline 250 5.8L, its has a slight hesitation when cranking, in other words, the engine has to turn-over at least 4 times before it cranks....and once it starts then its cranks on the the first stroke of the engine, after it sets for an hour it would have to be turned-over 4 times again to start. I replaced the ecm 3 months ago...and its one of those types that the fuel pump don't run unless the engine is turning over....any thoughts on where to start checking?
