Air conditioning not being routed correctly? Sign In

Hi everyone, I drive a 2006 Chrysler Sebring and I am having some trouble with the air conditioning. When I turn it on, the cool air does not going in the direction I want it to. The air direction only goes toward the windshield, I cannot route it to my face or my feet.

The air intensity (1, 2, 3, 4) all work fine though, but it can only increase the airflow toward the windshield. Also, there is a little button that I press to heat the rear windshield, it does not work if I press it, it does not light up (which it is supposed to).

One of us should know for sure if this is vacuum operated or an electric actuator. Default with failures is frequently ducts to defrost outlets only if troubles.

If you know it's vacuum look for small plastic line (probably black) underhood that is broken or burnt or anything wrong with it or they will hide a vacuum storage ball or item if broken physically would be the cause as well. All that only if vacuum actuated,

Out of luck for exact info. Found blend door (temp request) and a recirculation mode vs outside air one and both were electric but doesn't mean the choice of vent one is also.

Site I use just to find the part didn't list one and of course there is but info there is pot luck. My guess is it is vacuum and you may need to find a vacuum line broken, disturbed, left unhooked or whatever that goes thru firewall. A bit new IMO to need the part - just a hose repair is most likely??

Hard to see up under dash on most but you could see if a vacuum ball or line is disturbed underhood,
