Air bag deactivation Sign In

My uncle recently had open heart surgery and needs to deactivate the airbags in his 2004 Ford Escape to be able to drive it. We read the manual, but still can't figure out how to do it. Anyone got ideas??

I suggest this be done by a dealer with a letter from the doctor who suggests this be done. There's potential for a lot of legal barbed wire in disabling a safety device to consider,
