Advice re engine fault

Having major issues with Peugoet 207cc 1.6 GT.
Car registered 2007
Car is 18 months old now and within first 6 months stalled 3 times in traffic whilst driving causing power steering to fail, very dangerous and engine management system flashes up as does depollution warning. Garage stated sensor issues first twice and then on third time found water inside engine and a brand new one was fitted. 10 months later (last week) and the same problem has arisen again and they state they are now having to replace the rocker head gasket ??
On speaking to them on Friday they claim the oil was emulsified and had white residue and this is caused by short journeys and the engine not reaching normal operating temps on a regular basis. The car has only done 1500 miles with each engine and yes my wife only runs it 3 miles to work one way and 3 miles back to home and every night ferrying the kids around to local clubs. etc, again only 3/4 miles max each way (8 miles in total). Is the garage correct ?? They know the car does short journeys and this feels like a kop out to me. Any advice ??

Hmmm? There's something to be said for extreme low mile and very short trip use continually. It could cause issues with oil and sensors as it never gets to full operating temps in 3/4 mile runs or even 3 mile single runs from cold.
If they know this you could have been advised to change oil much more often and purposely give the car a good run at legal highway speeds periodically.
Issues like this shouldn't keep requiring a new motor IMO. You need to work with each other as to how best to use this car with the climate, expected use style.
Semi off topic: Boy are you a good candidate for an all electric vehicle!

Thanks Tom.
Met with garage last week and they agree technical advice from Peugeot is an issue that if the low mileage issue is proved to be the case then their sales staff should be telling customers this at purchase. We have agreed to change oil this week and then again at 3 miles, keeping the car at it's normal running style at present and then they will check to see if the oil is emulsifying then. If not look again 3 months later and in any case change it after 6 months !!
Still with me !!...they are also going to let me know what they deem to be a number of normal journey's I will require to make to avoid ths issue occuring again.
Dealer changing oil, etc free of charge and are trying to have my warranty extended for another year to give us reassurance. Further, if it happens in between times they are prepared to sit down and are considering a warranty buy back.

This car should be on a 3 month oil change intervals no matter of the miles (unless over 3,000) as its use is considered "severe" use/conditions. Even the owner's manual would state that! That's been a rule of thumb for ions now. This is especially so if the car is stored outdoors,
