ABS Brakes Sign In

I have a 98 Isuzu Rodeo and my ABS light just came on. My brakes are in great condition, so
now what do I do? Does that mean I need new brakes or just an adjustment? Any help will be
greatly appreciated...Thank you.

Re: ABS Brakes Sign In

You will need to have the ABS codes pulled to find out where to start. Brake pads typically won't have much to do with the ABS light. There are a number of things that could be causing the light to come on. Once you have the codes from the Electronic Brake Control Module it will be easier to know what direction to move in to correct the problem.

Re: ABS Brakes Sign In

Some auto parts stores will pull the codes for you for free. Autozone or the like. I am not sure if the code readers they use will give ABS codes or just engine trouble codes. The readers they use are very basic and may lack the ability to read ABS codes. If this is the case then you will have to take it to an actual repair facility where they have more sophisticated equipment.
