A-Class Mercedes losing power

I need some advice... my A-Class Mercedes is occasionally losing power, I can be driving down the road and everything is fine and then all of a sudden it just refuse's to give me anymore power, if I put my foot to the floor it only accelerates VERY slowly. If I then pull over and turn the engine off and restart it, it is fine again and gives me full power with no problems.
DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THIS MIGHT BE?
