So glad I found this forum. I hope someone can help me. This car is showing 190,000 miles but the engine we installed last year has about 70,000 or so. The car had a problem soon after the engine replacement with very rough shifting (automatic) and it stalled often and the engine light stayed on. We fixed this by replacing a small hose in the very front of the car that had dry rotted. The rough shifting and light are back, but no stalling. The first thing I checked was the same hose and it is fine. I read some posts about similar problems and got the advice to replace the IAT sensor which I did. I cleared the codes at the auto parts store and installed it in the parking lot. It drove like a dream for about two minutes and then reverted back to rough shifting although the light has stayed off so far. The only code was a high voltage for the coolant sensor. I'm not even sure what that means but I do know my two gauge stays bottomed out and my heat does not work. I would really appreciate any help I could get because I need to (cheaply) hang on to this car until I finish medical school. And imm stumped because it seems it only runs correctly for a while after i clear the codes Thank you in advance.
