98 Venture fuel line

Well here it is, Sat. night and my fuel line is leaking. I hoisted the van up and found the pressure line that feeds around the cradel is rusted through. Now to my question. Are the three fuel lines replaced as an assembly or can they be replaced seperatly? Next, if anyone out there has had the pleasure of doing this job, do you have any usefull tips that might ease the pain of this job. I have the air cleaner assembly and snorkle out, and quite honestly, this does not look pretty.

Usually all of the steel lines are bundled together and the whole assembly is available thru GM. I know it doesn't look like fun, but that's the proper way to do it.

Thanks for the quick reply Steve, I had a feeling that would be the answer. I was just trying to get a game plan set for this. I will go to my local dealer before I tear any more out and check on parts. Darn salt on the roads around here rusts evrything.

I don’t know if you guys can get this actual product but there must be something close to it in your area.

Its nylon tubing that is so easy to work with that I’ve almost given up on steel line as a repair for fuel lines. Look at most of the newer vehicles out there they’re all using nylon tubing; not because its cheaper but because today’s O2 sensors are so susceptible to contaminates that even a hint of lead will take them out and I guess the few ounces of weight will help with EPA standards?
You can also get adaptors to fit almost any vehicle out there; as in original style of quick connectors for the filters and fuel rails.
Like I said it’s so easy to work with no more tube benders; anyone that has tried to bend a 3/8” tubing, 90 degree will understand how hard it is to do without putting a kink into the line; let alone putting an S bend into it.
What I’ve been doing with the nylon is to leave the original line in place and run the nylon right beside it; cable tying the nylon every few inches.
The tubing is not cheap but the ease of use will make it worth its weight in gold.
Do you get the impression that I like using the stuff? LOL

PS: A good friend of mine; Cam is a representative for the company and this guy researches the crap out of anything that he sells. If it didn’t do what they (the manufacturer) said it could; Cam wouldn’t be selling the stuff.

WOW. This looks great. I will have to research the availability here in Ohio. I even saved it in my favorites so I dont lose it. It is Sunday night, I cant wait for Monday to look for this. This can be so simple for my application. Thank you for forwarding this, I will keep you posted.

Hi Dan. I watched the video and I have to say, very informative. I too will see if I can get my hands on one of these kits. I'm sure I can order it direct from Ontario if no-one around here can get them yet. What a timesaver, and just think, once you replace a line once, it won't be back with the same problem 5 years down the road. Most of my customers drive their cars into the ground, and then keep going as if they're competing with each other as to who can reach the earth's core first. LOL Thank you very much.

I got the hose at the local parts store. I had some difficulty finding the male connector but the female were at every store I tried. This is so easy to use, a first class repair in no time. Thanks again for the tip.
