'98 Honda Accord revving when idle Sign In

'98 Honda Accord V6 with ~136K mi; automatic transmission

Battery replaced 12/14/08; sat unused until 1/13/09 while I was on vacation.

When I returned and started car, it began revving within 20 seconds of starting vehicle. It quickly jumps between 1,500 rpms & 2000 rmps. I almost sounds as if I keep tapping the gas pedal repeatedly while in park.

Any ideas? Thanks for your assistance.

CTS: Coolant temp sensor. If the coolant level is too low, can cause a surge at idle. (The CTS must be in contact with the coolant to get a proper reading).
