98 Honda Accord green key light blinking

This Accord will not start and I've just begun troubleshooting. I'm wondering what the little green light with a "key" blinking is? Security lock-out problem, or what?
There are no codes, but the owner told me that the battery was dead and they jumped the car just before bringing it to me. At fiirst I thought we were looking at battery or alternator or both, so I tried to start the car to check the alternator. Car cranks and cranks and cranks but will not start. All fuses OK. Fuel pump OK. Getting fire. So there is lots more troubleshooting ahead, but for right now, I'm wondering what the blinking green light is.

That does sound like a security problem but the code reader isn't going to be able to read security codes.

If the green light is blinking with the key inserted, the immobilizer system is active and disabling the fuel pump.
If the customer has another key, try that one to see if you have a transponder problem.
Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

It was, indeed, an incompatable key. I made the dumb assumption (as if there was any other kind of assumption) that the key she handed me was the one she used to bring the car to me.
All is well now, and as usual, youse guys are the bestest!
