Hi, please save me before I go nuts... 1998 F250 8 CYL 207,000 I own a 1998 F-250...one day while driving at 60mph, wipers on, raining hard...a clicking sound begun under the dash. I have taken the car apart and cant figure it out...The noise starts when the car is in motion, the noise increases as the car moves but usually stops when I pass 40mph....the noise is active with the wipers on or off.... Battery light comes on and off every now and then....stays lit for a few minutes and then turns off for weeks at a time and then when i least expect it battery light comes on again...no power failure just a light for a few minutes, not sure if that would have anything to do with a clicking sound that appears to be initiated by speed/wind... The noise was also present when my car was at the car wash and the blowers went over the hood, when the strong wind reached the wiper section the clicking sound was heard once the blower went over the cab the clicking stopped.... What can be clicking? Its going to make me nuts.......thank you...

Without being able to hear it the noise I could only guess. The 1st thing that comes to mind is a relay not getting a good contact. The best thing to do would be to try to get the noise to happen while the truck sitting still and find the part making the noise..... Kinda of okie but going off what you posted maybe get a buddy & try a leaf blower on the windshield while you're under the dash??? ( I know....I know....ok everyone take your shots............have fun)

Actually Sidom that's not so okie as you put it. I've gone thru hell finding noises from assorted speeds. One had to have owner drive while I hunted for a "Kazoo" type noise that traveled so was tough to find. Many tries and finally I blamed the dang windshield. Put painter's tape all around it and it stopped! Defective non quality glass had been replaced. Was tougher because it didn't leak water in rain. Wiper related? Try standing them up such that all load is off them or take them completely off. If it goes away there's might be air flow by wiper position or electrical as suggested or perhaps the linkage the runs them has a problem attitude that needs attention. Hard to say, T
