97 bonneville won't start

I have a 97 bonneville that will not start. When i turn the key I hear the clicking of the relays by passanger door but that is all. I have unhooked the battery to reset computer, but did not help. There is also a small box on the fire wall at floor in the middle of the dash(was told some kind of security thing) I unplugged it and plugged it back in with no change. Would like to know if the info. I was given was right and what to check next. Thank you for your time.

Do you have a security light on or flashing when this happens?

I have had this issue for a little while. Most of the time it will start on the first or second turn of the key. The security light is on now. It will spuratically go on and off.

You have issues with the Passkey system. It's going to require the use of a Tech2 scan tool to be able to diagnose it properly.

not sure what that is. Do i have to take it to a mechanic or can I get it some where?

Not JUST a mechanic. You need someone that has the factory scan tool and that may be only the dealer.
