Gm did have a lot of fuel pump failures in these years when it was hot out.... They did come out with a better designed pump... We towed in/replaced a lot of fuel pumps that the "vehicles stalled out while driving in warm/hot weather". You will need to find out if it is an ignition (spark) or fuel failure. What makes you say the fuel pump is working properly? Have you had it tested when the failure occurs? Any code(s)...stored...check engine light?
