97 Honda CIVIC worse off after 60,000 mi inspection and maint. Sign In

I recently had the 60,000 mile inspection done on my 97 Honda Civic (it has about 80,000 miles on it) and the CV AXLE replaced. After picking the car up from the repair shop the car started chugging when I came to a stop and hesitated when I accelerated. It has kept displaying similar behavior in the days since Ive picked it up. The repair shop has not been helpful in helping me diagnose the new problem over the phone and insist that they would need to look at it again to be any help (which means they wont help me unless I shell out even more $$$ to them) The car had never displayed any behavior like this prior to the repair of the car. I do not know anything much about cars but I did look at the engine and noticed that the violent chugging only happened when the engine fan turned on. Any ideas as to what the cause of the problem might be? Is this something that may have been caused by a poor job at the repair shop? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am a college student and cant afford to give out money to a repair shop that does a poor job.

If there was a problem right away when you picked up the car then you should have brought it up right then and there. It's impossible to say if anything is related to whatever was involved in this LATE service you had done and the shop can't guess for you without seeing the car so just what do you want?

How long has it been? I'd take it back and ask them to check what was done for something gone wrong or it may be another problem that has happened. If you don't trust them why did you take it there to begin with?
