I was driving on the highway going possibly 70mph max and my car breaks down. There was smoke coming out of the hood and I had to get it towed back home. My oil light had been going on for the past week or two and I was actually planning on getting an oil change that very day. SO.... is my engine done? and if so how much for a new one with labor?

Your oil light has been going on for a week and you were going to get around to fixing it?

Let me explain just what that light is put there for.

It means emergency, shut the engine off immediately. It looks like not you have to get around to replacing the engine now.

Likely
If not you have the whole horse not just its shoe up your posterior?

A couple grand (thousand) for a used engine installed; for a reconditioned “new” engine 4-5 grand, without blinking and eye or in this case a warning light.
Sorry for your luck so close to Christmas and I would maybe quit admitting to people that you knew the warning light was on. It doesn’t do well at showing your level of common sense.
