I have a 96 Grand Am SE 2.4L to start the story of why my car wont start.

Drove it to taco Johns one day left in in the parking lot over night went back to my car the next night wouldent start. Tryed to jump it nothing it would turn over and run for about 2sec's then die right away. Next day came back with a new battery pluged it in and same thing turns over for about 2sec's so i took the battery off and waited about 5 mins tryed it again and started up fine.

1 week lator went to stop and get gas shut off my car filled up with gas went to start and same thing again worked all week 100% fine. so i disconected the battery at about 12am came back the next day and it started fine.

Got it home sat in the drive way for about a day went to go start it and SAME! THING!
Also my dash stoped workin that day lights work on it when i turn them on but the gauge's arent working same with the ABS light, seatbelt light, alarm light, and all the normal lights that come on when i would put my key in the car.

Also pretty much since i have had the car about 2 years about a year and 1/2 ago my key wouldent come out so i have to push a little button under the wheel.

even leaveing my battery off for a wile like i did befor doesent work now.

Ok so things iv done to the car to maybe try and fix it.

New battery: less then 2 weeks ago
Brand new spark plugs: put in last night
Toped off my oil: put in last night
Checked the fuse's both in the car and under my hood

I dont kno everything about cars but am willing to do stuff by myself if it is that kinda fix. Please help

1st thing you need to do is find out what is missing when it won't start. Fuel or spark? This will help narrow down the search. That should be quad 4 so checking spark will be a little harder but not impossible. You can also spray some starting fluid down the throttle body to see if that will make it start for a few seconds, if it does, then you are looking at a fuel problem......
