96 Continental Front Air Suspension Conversion Sign In

Good Afternoon. In my search for answers I ran across your site today. I've already found much help, but still need one bit of information if someone can help me.
Earlier this year I bought a 96 Lincoln Continental. It's pretty nice, but I started having issues with the left front air bag (suspension) about a month after buying it. It quickly deteriorated to the point of not holding air at all. I ended up purchasing a pair of coil struts from a 98 Continental from a local salvage yard. After installation, the computer on the dash would immediately indicate an error (CHECK RIDE CONTROL). I expected some sort of error, so this wasn't a huge issue at the time. I needed the car for daily transportation, and it was driving great.

Now, a couple of months down the road, the rear is starting to sag, and I can't get the compressor to come on to air it up. I found instructions on the internet to install a schrader valve on the drier to permit manual inflation of the bags, but this would not be my first choice of solutions.
I was able to find instructions to "freeze" the suspension, which eliminated the error messages, but it also bypasses the rear suspension altogether.

My question: Knowing that 97 and newer Continentals have coils in front and air bags in the rear, is there a module or component from the newer Continental that I can install on my 96 that will make the car think that only the rear suspension needs to be monitored and maintained? Or is this a function in the main computer (which I don't want to mess with)?
If I have to go the route of installing a schrader valve and manually maintaining the rear suspension, I will ultimately either go back to air in front or change the rear to coil.

I would greatly appreciate any input or thoughts anyone may have.
Thanks,
Ken
