96 Camaro ignition won't shut off

I'm working on 95-96 Camaro ignition is in the accessory position even with the key off or removed the only way to shut it off is to disconnect the battery I have replaced the ignition switch at the base of the column didn't change anything. I then i moved the switch by hand into all the positions no change any ideas?

Do the wipers work with the key off?
That vehicle has the retained accessories option in the BCM(body control module). When you turn the ignition off with the door closed, the accessories such as the radio, power windows, ect will stay on until you either open the driver's door or the timer expires.
It could be the BCM isn't seeing the door ajar switch changing states. Does the dome light come on when you open the door or the door ajar warning lamp light up with the door open?
