I don't know a lot about cars, but I will try to give as much detail as I can!

I am referring to my fiance's 96 Honda Accord... I don't know the engine size but it has about 160,000 miles.

About a year ago we went shopping for 15 minutes and came back to the car. It wouldn't start. After a half hour it started and was fine for a while. Since then, the car has issues when it's rainy or when it has been cooling for a short amount of time. For instance-today it is pouring rain and I went to the store and left the car in the lot for like 10 minutes. When I came back, it started fine and then died when I put it in reverse and when I stopped at a stop sign. So within like 2 minutes of "driving" it died about 5 times... Every time the car dies, I have to put it in park and restart it (it restarts just fine) but then it might die again. When it's rainy it usually dies multiple times after restarting.

When it's not rainy, usually you can restart it once and it will be fine until you stop again. Generally when the cooling time of the vehicle is a matter of hours, the problem doesn't exist, but when it's under an hour it's a big problem and will have to die once and be restarted in order to function properly.

Sometimes the car won't even die, it just tries to die and when you press the gas it jumps the engine..but continues to do that every time you are at a stop sign.

The symptoms it has when we can tell it will die are random punches of vibrations-almost like a jolt or two in a long sequence while it's in park and warming up. Then when we put it in drive it will die. Generally it doesn't die in reverse, but apparently it does on rainy days.

Other things we have noticed-it spurts out a lot of exhaust when you first start it, and every time we fill up the tank it let out a TON of air when we unscrew the gas cap.

Recently we had the cpv valve (sorry i forget what it's called...) replaced and it reverted back to its usual issues quickly. We have taken it in and talked to multiple people about it but no one seems to know what's wrong. The air filter is new, he gets regular oil changes... we just don't get where this is coming from. His battery is pretty new as well-within the last two year I believe. He uses heet during the winter because he wasn't sure if it was a water in the tank issue. Good luck on this challenge-we just can't seem to figure out what's up!

Thanks in advance for the help :) Happy new year!
