95 ford escort lx wagon, 231k miles, 1.9li manual trans engine...RUNS QUIETER THAN MY 05 RSX.
my rear window wiper is being stubborn and although it works as it should, washer and all, the blade does not stay in contact with the window throughout the wipe sweep. it is effective for about 1/3 of the window before it comes off and swings through the air. I'm nearly positive it is the hinge connecting the arm to the motor but I have no idea how to fix it. The arm has a lot of friction and although it moves fairly easily, it definitely does not snap to the window like the front wipers.

Unless the motor itself can move/tilt that much the wiper arm would be the likely trouble. You should be able to remove it completely - lube up pivot and check springs and or replace the arm as a whole,
