need advice: 94 plym voy se,229,000, head gasgets redone in 2003.In 2005, new tran.. left axel boot now off(dislodged). I tried to "patch my air intake" because idle control valve was stuck open. I used a piece of t-shirt cloth 4"by 5". It got sucked into the intake manifold. we removed the whol top of the engine(air manifold) and could not find cloth. used a vacuum cleaner hose to try to suck it back out. no good. decided to replace idle valve control, then try to run it, but it would not start. In fact, it sounded horrible, clacking, and sputtering. I am told by one person that it sounds like the cloth has gone down to a valve seat and the engine is misfiring. but it sounded terrible. Before this fiasco, the engine was running very good, with power, cruising at 80mph. oil change every 3000 mi. what should I do now and how much money am I looking at spending? Is it worth "rebuilding the whole engine, do I have to, or should I look at selling as is and finding another? I have been the only driver of this van, and love it. Can it be fixed? all responsed really appreciated!

well anything can be fixed, (i think)...
time to disassemble to inspect, find out where it went, what failed...etc...
who knows the cost until ya get in there....
as far as rebuilding /fixing etc....ya have to decide how much you want to keep throwing at this...
figuring the whole vehicle has 229k on it,what else will it need???? you can bet other things will fail/break..
thats a givin....new cars break...
but you did say it has a new trans, thats a plus....
but what condition is the rest of the van.i.e.body...etc....
might just be time to say bye bye but you won't get much for it like this....
aw heck, get in there and find the problem....

post back with results please.....
