HI, I have a 94 mx-6 2.4L. replaced the starter 2-3 months ago. things were fine. went to the beach for a hour or so. got in the car. car wont go. it has spark, all lights and knobs work. ac fan is not running but the compressor seems fine. all fuses are ok. maybe a relay? any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. gotta get the kids back tonight!

The car doesn't run but the compressor seems fine??????

How can the compressor work if the car isn't running? What exactly is the problem?

it runs, we can push start it. the blower motor for the ac is not working but a small amount of cool air is coming out.

So, what are you trying to fix? The car that doesn't start or the A/C blower that doesn't work?

I would rather have the car start but the ac would be a plus. i think they're related because they both went out at the same time

I doubt they are related but the only way your going to find out is by tracking the circuit with a wiring diagram.

I'll give you the diagram but I need to know if it's a 6 cyl or 4.

we have a diagram. it's a 4 cyc. may i ask if the starter interrupt relay is normally opened or closed?

That relay is closed at rest and is opened by the PCM to interrupt the starter circuit. It appears it can also interrupt the blower relay.

we just finished checking all relays. is it safe to say that it's prolly the starter or computer even though we just replaced the starter?

Don't ask me that. I'm not the one that tested it. You can jump out the starter to find out if that's OK. You can test for power in and out of the neutral safety switch too to find out if power is getting past the relay.

it's a manual trasmission and we tested the clutch pedal interrupt and is getting power. would this be the same as the neutral safety switch?

Is it getting power both in and out?
If so, check to see if it's arriving the at the starter on the black with blue wire.

Can you tell me where the blower motor relay is located?

In the relay box in the engine compartment mounted on the right fender well.

There's no blower motor relay marked in the fuse box/relay panel on the front fender well. Some other literature we've says it's mounted front right corner of the engine compartment. Can you help us narrow down the precise location?

Yes, right front corner in the relay box, right next to the power steering reservoir.

Do you know why the brake light would come on when the ckitch is depressed?? This is getting crazier by the minute.

Get your starter working and don't worry about everything else yet.
