Hard to say of couse without being there but any brake or suspension part could be involved. Does it shut right up if you drag the brake a little? That's telling that it's brake related. There could be stabilizer bar pin bushings broken, even heat shield or exhaust mounts of any kind can make noises - tap on exhaust with a rubber hammer may reveal that. Noises are warnings so keep checking till you find it, T

thanks for the info.. i did tap it with a rubber hammer its not exhaust pipes or anything..when i break it does not make the noise so i know its not break.. it sounds like a lose bolt clan claning ..but i re tight all bolts and check too.. to me i think it could be the shock absorber because when i hit the little bumps thats when it makes the noise but im not sure if its that..is that a sing of a bad shock worn out? this really got me stump and i know its coming from the back of the car i can hear it.. thanks

Just sitting still bounce the car up and down and see if it will make the noise. If so - try to look for something while a helper bounces it keeping your head out from under it please If you can find a road where it will actively make the noise and braking shuts it up the brakes are the likely problem! While braking the parts are tight with force and can't rattle so much so that's a clue to totally check them out and not a bad idea anyway, T

Keep looking. Rock it side to side and eventually you may need to get under it while wheels are still supporting the weight of the vehicle on lifts that do that or bite the bullet and take it in - alignment shops should be good at this, T

Might sound retarded, but I'm a truck driver and deal with clang-clang noises that can come from just about any where. Do you have a jack and spare in your car? and are they secured tightly? Nothing rattles UNDER or ON your car, but what about IN? If the jack is laying on top your rim (spare tire) it will for a fact clang and jump around on speed bumps, gravel roads, ANY uneven surface. I carried free weights with me, had to strap them down, etc. Just check in trunk for anything loose or free.... tools, wrenches, dunno. Maybe I'm retarded, maybe it's old common horse sense, though. Hope you solve your problem!!
