94 camry oil in water Sign In

i have a 94 camry with the 3 liter eng. .it is the 4 valve per cyl. eng. . it has oil in the water, but no water in the oil. the oil stays clean and it uses less than a pint between oil changes. you can still read through the oil at the time for the oil changes. it runs great. what could be the problem? the car is in near perfect condition even though it has over 200k miles. it has a few things i am not familiar with . it has water lines going to the electric cooling fan and it has a etc switch on the consul . the switch says power or normal position. i am not sure of their functions . i would appreciate any help very much.thanks.

Hard to tell when slight if engine oil or if automatic trans is using radiator end tank for cooling those can put ATF in coolant. Check ATF level.

Which ever is putting oil in coolant it won't be long before cooling system hoses can get real soft and all will need to be replaced.

What you really don't want is coolant getting in trans,

You got a great point.
It probably is tranny fluid if he's not seeing coolant in his oil.

Don't assume that. It could be either one and needs to be checked out before making any guesses.

Recently made a 250 mile trip and checked oil and transmission fluids before and after. No transmission fluid needed, had to add a half a quart of oil.Just checked again and transmission still fine, but oil 3/4 of a quart low.Seems to be getting worse. Thanks for your help.Crazy

If you have that much oil in your cooling system, then you shouldn't be driving that car at all until it's resolved.

That's enough oil in 250 miles to suspect that's it even at the miles. Doing a mind search as to where oil (has more pressure than cooling system) can cross over and only thing I can think of right now is head gasket or flaw/crack in the wrong spot which would be worse. Fix this as the oil will quickly harm cooling system rubber parts all over too as said,
