OK, so here's the problem. I just fixed the latch kick mechanism to work again with the press of the rear window button on the front panel, but I can't seem to get the lock on the hatch to turn to the left to open the window from the back. It turns to the right (to open the hatch itself) with or without the key inside, but it doesn't turn to the left (window) whether there's a key in or not. I took the whole assembly off the hatch to oil up the latch work, but I have no idea why the lock would be frozen like that. Any ideas what I could do? 1993 Chevy S10 Blazer 4.3L Vortec

Your going to have to remove the door panel to see what's happening inside when you try to turn it. You may have to go in through the top to get it to release the first time so you can work on it with the hatch open. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

I've already taken the panel off to look at the latching mechanism, and I noticed there was nothing for contact between the lock itself and the mechanism. When I would turn the lock lever to the right, it would contact an arm on the mechanism which would pull the rods to the hatch latches. But, in the starting position, with or without the key in, it won't budge even a centimeter turning to the left. There is no visible obstruction that would explain the lock not turning.
