I have a 93 mazda mx-6 ls with a 2.5 v-6. i was at a gas station and put gas in and when leaving my car died and now has no spark. i put new cap and rotor in but made no difference. I was told the ignition module but dont know where it is. I generally know that they are in the distributor but someone told me that it could be by the battery or the left side wheel well. i have no idea what it looks like so if someone could give me a little advise on that or what could be wrong with the car I would be very appreciative. thank you for reading and sorry about the typing errors if any.

You will want to verify the module has power and ground to know if its any good. I'd also check for injector pulse. If you have it, you know its only an ignition issue and the modules in those did tend to go out. If you have no injector pulse, you are looking at a different problem altogether because the ECM isn't getting its required info to make it send commands to the ignition or the injectors.

Re: 93 mazda Sign In

I just had one of these a couple days ago with no spark and it turned out to be the distributor. Pretty common issue. The Ignition module, called the ignitor is built into the distributor and not serviced separately.

Re: 93 mazda Sign In

I agree with Hammer Time-Replacing the distributor is the fix for the problem-I did the same thing back in 2008 with my 93 Mx-6 or you can try the HEI module fabrication
