93 BLAZER 4X4 ISSUES	Sign In

I Have A 1993 Jimmy Blazer 4x4 6 Cyl (w) Vortec... When I First Got It The 4x4 Didnt Work... I Check The Switch And Didnt Have Power (wires) So I Took Power From A Different Source And It Light Up... The 4x4 Low Works But It Wont Shift Gear (always) But If Keep Pushing The Button And If The Engine (or Sensor ) Is Cold.. The 4x4 Low Will Work For Couple Hours.. The 4x4 High Only Worked Once (a Week Ago) And It Runned Smooth.. I Dont Think I Have A Transmission Problem.... I Can Hear A Click Behind The Glove Box When Im Pushing The 4x4 Switch.. And A Noise Under The Blazer... When The 4x4 Is Trying To Work (all This While Is In Neutral Of Course... I Want To Start Messing With It But I Could Use Some Help... Thank You All...

Be careful connecting other power sources to it you could blow other peices mainly the body control unit. Check out all fuses and relays then check the wires that all run through the system for the switch after that you may want to change the switch if nothing is wrong Remeber start simple then major. Make sure each case has fluid also transfer case, front and rear axle. After you check all connections insdie the vehicle check under the body around the trany and transfer case for sensors and ground points to make sure each one is connected properly.

Im more of a Body tech than a mechanic but even body techs have to do some electrical work. Hope this helps.

YOU ARE RIGHT... ILL TRY TO FIND OUT WHAT SENSORS OR FUSES I NEED TO CHECK... I WAS TOLD THA THE PROBLEM MAY BE THE TRANSFER CASE SWICH... CAUSE SOMETIMES THE 4X4 WORK... I THINK THE SWITH ITS OK... IT LIGHTS RIGH UP... ILL TRY TO GET ITS ORIGINAL WIRING WORKIN FIRST... THANKS FOR YOUR TIME...

Click here and do some reading. A little more searching on the site will give you wiring also.
