just happened, 92 olds sil 3.1 fluids all good wires plugs cap&rotor vacuum lines all good, did trans service over the weekend today headed to ob warm&clear day coming to a light feels like trans didn't finnish downshift shuttered and stalled thought 2 things coolant or bad thermostat giged in drive-way took it out did it again any ideas?

Looking down at the transmission from the top, there is a large plug, usually round. Unplug it a drive it again and see if the problem is gone. If so, you have a TCC solenoid sticking and it's sticking in overdrive.

Thanx much hammerman that was it! that sensor assists shifting under load and if ya don't really put a load on it is it safe to drive wirthout it? I'm one for the broke replace it however if it'snot a priority... thanx again

Who told you that?
That disconnects the TCC solenoid and takes away overdrive because that's what it was doing. It was getting stuck in overdrive and not releasing. That was just a test and it needs to be fixed properly or you will have transmission problems in the future.
