My 92 S10 pickup 2.8 l, started becoming hard of starting. Eventually after pumping the accelerator it will move but then it doesn't want to get full acceleration and just bounces. Once you eventually get out of 2nd gear it seams to run better but still with not much power. I've replaced the fuel filter and some guy talked me into replacing the EGR cellunoid just to see. That didn't work. If it drives then it can't be the fuel pump, right? Could it be something like my plug wires? That's just a hunch from something I read. What do you think?

a general tune up if overdue will def help and also give a better place to start diagnostics. tune up parts are mostly inexpensive and offer great peace of mind

To add..

Get the fuel pressure checked with a fuel pressure gauge.
Pressure should be between 9 -13 PSI. for a 2.8L TBI
Still could be a fuel pump .
