92 Oldsmobile 98 won't start

I have a 92 oldsmobile 98 that was running fine, went out to start it but it just turns over. A friend said it could be the ignition module but I don't know how to check it and it is about 120 dollar part. It is the normal V6 that came in the 98

1st thing you want to do is determine if you are missing spark or fuel. Get a sparktester to check spark, spray some starting fluid down the throttle body & see it that'll start the engine for a second or 2...
