92 Olds Cutlass question Sign In

Okay, so my mechanic says my car has "leaks upon leaks", but it gets the job done. I do have a curiosity, though:

I drive a 1992 Olds Cutlass Supreme S. It has a 3.1L V6, with over 136K miles on it. I know it's a lot, but what the hell, it runs.

My question is that my "Low Coolant" light keeps coming on at random times. Whether accelerating, braking, at idle, at speed, I see the light come on for anywhere from a few seconds to 15 minutes at a time. And sometimes, it stays off for days.

Now, here's the funny part: I have a new radiator, a new water pump, new heater hoses, and a new unibelt (all installed three months ago). More, my radiator and reservior are full, and my car seems to operate normally (no overheating, the heater works, very little - if any - coolant odor). Any ideas?

Try running your finger - engine off please - under all hose connections and see what you find. If it's full at radiator it shouldn't be sending you a warning?? T

If all of the system is intact and the fluid is full, the level sensor itself may be bad.
