92 Cavalier speedometer

My speedometer on my 92 chevy cavalier Z24 was reading lower than actual mph. I changed the vehicle speed sensor and it's still not working. Don't want to spend more money on parts I don't need just wondering if anybody has any ideas. Thanks!
