91 Mercedes 300SE hard early morning start

Hello----Have an issue developing on my 91 Mercedes 300SE, that at first was just early morning starts, but now is progressing to more starts during the day. The first start sometimes sounds like it is just running on 3 cylinders for a second or two, and then the other 3 cyl's kick in, and it idles pretty normal---sliglt miss--very subtle. Has 87,000 miles now and am wondering where to start trouble-shooting for the source of the problem. Thanks, for any suggestions.
