'86 nissan sentra

I have a four cylinder, 5 speed manual, '86 nissan sentra. When i start it on cold days the engine will run rough then die as soon as i push on the gas. after waiting about a minute for it to warm up it will run fine. any idea on what the problem might be?

If no code a cheap maybe would be the sensor for engine temp near the thermostat that tells the car that it's cold and behave! Again just a maybe without more info, T
